Formed in 2014, Lossiemouth Community Development Trust (LCDT) is a Scottish charity based in Lossiemouth, on the beautiful Moray Coast.
Our projects focus on place and infrastructure in the town. We support the regeneration and improvement of facilities in Lossiemouth, and we support other community groups who seek to to the same. Find out about our projects.
We are an independent community-owned and led, membership organisation, governed by a voluntary board of trustees. We have two part-time staff and are supported by a team of cheery volunteers. Would you like to get involved?

The project is Spring Clean Scotland. YMCA Scotland have a 3 year Climate Action Project that links with Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) who help host this. There is engagement from local communities organising a litter pick. 2026 Spring Clean Scotland is being held between 13th March and 24th April. The other day, I received an email from someone in my local community. They had spotted my flyer in the window at Lossiemouth Community Development Trust and reached out.
They shared a beautiful therapeutic story they had written, about a shy haggis finding friendship in their own quiet way.
It was full of themes I hold close to my heart: communication, authenticity, acceptance, and connection.
What struck me most wasn’t just the story itself, but the act of sharing it. A stranger reaching out. A moment of connection. A reminder that community can exist in ways we don’t always see.
It made me realise that sometimes, community finds you.

I truly believe in the power of storytelling. It helps us learn, heal, and feel less alone. So today, I’m pausing to reflect with gratitude for creativity, connection, and for the quiet, unexpected ways community shows up.
