☀️Today is the last day of the summer season for the Visitor Information Centre.

👋😀Weve had another successful year, welcoming many visitors - and locals - providing a friendly face to help them get the most from their stay.

🫖Yesterday, we celebrated with some of the volunteers, enjoying cake and tea together.

There were some lovely stories of people weve met over the summer, from all over the world. And a few stories of some of the more unusual characters and requests! 🤭

🐣The VIC will be back next Easter. Until then, once again, a huge thank you to everyone who has so warmly and generously given their time and knowledge to be part of this voluntary service.

🙏Particular thanks to Janet and Donna for leading the project for the third year.

If youd like to be involved next year, please email dto@lossietrust.org

🍅Do you ever have a glut of garden produce and would you like some new and exciting ideas for what to do with it all?

🍒Would you like some inspiration for your foraging haul?

🟧Do you love a Co-op orange sticker and want some canny ways to freeze, bake and preserve the bargains?

🥫Make your harvest last longer, your budget go further and your foraging more rewarding with creative ideas from professional foodie, Helen Fitch.

🥧A talk at Marine Park on Thursday 3rd September, 7pm.
From plot to pantry. Clever ideas with excess produce.

Its sure to be a fascinating and enlightening talk, perfect for foodies, whether thats growing, baking or simply enjoying!

Summer’s nearly over, but that doesn’t mean your glow has to disappear with it.

As the evenings get darker and autumn starts to creep in, it’s the perfect time to top up your tan and keep that gorgeous summer colour going for a little longer.

Heading away on holiday? Get bronzed before you go.

Already had your summer holiday? Keep that tan topped up.

Missing that sunshine feeling? Treat yourself to some Glow Spa time and bring a little warmth back into your week.

Book your Glow Spa appointment at KAM today.

A foraging trip to a beautiful woodland near by ended up with purple fingers and a pot overflowing with Blaeberries (the Scottish word for Bilberries). Similar to blueberries but smaller and tarter, these wee berries are perfect to use in baking and jams. Our homemade jam is absolutely delicious spread on hot buttery toast. I plan to freeze some of the blaeberries to bake with later in the year as well!

Not all sunbeds are created equal.

When you’re investing in your tan, the quality of the equipment, bulbs and products you use matters.

At KAM Glow Spa, we’ve invested in premium Ergoline sunbeds, maintained to the highest standards, with brand-new bulbs replaced every 500 hours for consistent performance and an even, deep tan.

And it doesn’t stop at the bed.

We have an extensive range of specialist tanning creams, carefully selected to complement your session and help you achieve the results you’re looking for, whether you’re new to tanning or already experienced.

So if summer is over but you’re not ready to lose that deep, dark glow, come to the experts who take tanning seriously.

👕 From blank... to branded.

This week's project was creating T-shirts for Moray Training Club in Lossiemouth.
There's something really satisfying about watching a plain garment become something people will wear with pride.

It's not just a logo.
It's belonging.
It's community.
It's an everyday reminder that you're part of something bigger.

✨ That's what I love creating.

ORANGE & CARDAMOM... 🍊🧡
A new recipe in the Shed this week, I have only eaten orange and cardamom cake, never tried baking it! This is my first attempt. Its super orangy with that warm cardamom kick, not too sweet and full of flavour. I will definitely be baking this again, possibly with a few tweaks to perfect it!
Let me know if you enjoy it!

DICK ’N’ JIM OOT & ABOOT… CHIPPY EDITION!
This time we were Oot & Aboot in Lossie and, well… when you’re by the seaside, it would be downright rude not to have a chippy.
So off we went to galleyojewel for the important business of fish, chips and a good old-fashioned feed. And judging by the size of that fish… they certainly weren’t messing aboot!
Crispy batter ✔️
A mountain of chips ✔️
Two hungry boys ✔️
Absolutely nae intention of leaving any ✔️
Sometimes you dinnae need fancy — just a decent chippy, eaten by the sea, and someone beside you who knows pinching your chips is grounds for muuuurderrrr (said in thon Taggart voice...you mind it).
Have you tried The Galley in Lossie? And more importantly…
👇 What’s YOUR favourite chippy in Moray?
Tag them below — because Dick ’n’ Jim are always willing to conduct further research. Purely for the page, obviously.
