The success of Lossiemouth’s Seafest festival was acknowledged in the Scottish Parliament.  MSP Richard Lochhead was very impressed when he visited the event on the 9th of July.  Mr Lochheads motion in Parliament asked that the Parliament recognised the success of Seafest in its third year.  He commended Chairperson Donna Milne and her team for the great organisation of a packed programme of events culminating in a food and drink fayre showcasing the best of Moray produce.  Over 4000 people attended the event with local organisation, charities and businesses all benefitting from the day.

Seafest opened with the Seafest supper at the Stotfield Hotel on the 2nd of July.  Once again guests savoured a delicious seafood meal in convivial surroundings overlooking the Moray Firth.  The week of events continued with a Tennis Taster session at Marine Park, Orienteering at Oakenhead Woods, Surfing on East Beach, Pet Show at Station Park, Sandcastle Competition on West Beach, Kids Summer Party at the Sports & Social Club and a Posh Tea Party in the Townhall.  Congratulations and thank you to the organisers , all events were well attended and enjoyed by the community and visitors alike.

Seafest has went from strength to strength since it began in 2014.  It could not have happened without a dedicated committee and volunteers.  All of whom have contributed to the success of the community event.   The Seafest team thank the community for their support in 2016 and look forward to welcoming everyone at Seafest 2017.
